Lawsuits over allegedly defective hip, knee and ankle implants will be coordinated into multidistrict litigation in Brooklyn, New York.

Friday’s order, by the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation, transfers 75 cases against Exactech Inc., based in Gainesville, Florida. Plaintiffs lawyers had suggested sending the cases to U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto in the Eastern District of New York, but the panel selected another judge from the same district, U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis.
