Attorneys with New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and Morvillo Abramowitz Grand Iason & Anello on Tuesday filed a class action lawsuit against the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, arguing that the gaps between subway cars and platforms constitute discrimination in violation of the New York City Human Rights Law.

The named plaintiffs in the suit include a wheelchair user and people with impaired vision who have difficulty navigating the horizontal gaps between the subway cars and platforms, along with the “vertical gaps” or differences in height between the cars and platforms.
