A federal judge in Syracuse on Monday temporarily scaled back New York’s concealed carry law that went into effect on Sept. 1.

A 184-page ruling by Judge Glenn Suddaby in U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York, preliminarily enjoined the state from enforcing key portions of the new law, such as the need for an applicant to display good moral character and provide licensing officials with lists of former and current social media accounts from the past three years.
