The association representing New York’s 62 district attorneys asked Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday for a boost in state aid to prosecutors from $12.5 million this year to $18 million in fiscal 2024.

The increase would be a means of supporting the enhanced prosecution of repeat violent and serious felony offenders, the District Attorneys Association of the State of New York said in its eight-item budget request to Hochul.
