The Legal Aid Society said Queens is behind the city's other boroughs in implementing discovery reforms. But spokesperson for the Queens DA's office said they are using electronic processing to get materials into the hands of defense lawyers expeditiously.

The Legal Aid Society is accusing the Queens District Attorney's Office of failing to comply with New York's discovery statute.
"For over two years, public defenders throughout Queens have dealt with this unfair and illogical practice, which undercuts discovery reform and contributes to court delays," said Diana Nevins, staff attorney with the Queens Trial Office at The Legal Aid Society, said in a statement.
