It’s always a roll of the dice for an attorney to deploy humor during a trial. At best, an ill-conceived joke could just fall flat with a court. At worst, it could get them sanctioned or even flipped on appeal.

But by many accounts, famed trial lawyer Jay Goldberg knew how to make judges and juries laugh and at the right moments, as well as introduce a bit of theatrical flair into the proceedings.
