A coalition of lawmakers and blockchain industry advocates are pressing for the reversal of policies that have curbed bitcoin mining and urging New York State officials to study a new approach to the technology.

New York Assemblyman Clyde Vanel, D-Queens, made a reference from his law school days while suggesting the state’s two-year moratorium on certain bitcoin mining was, in essence, an application of strict liability.
