A divided New York Senate Judiciary Committee made history Wednesday by not advancing Gov. Kathy Hochul’s nomination of Justice Hector LaSalle for chief judge of the state’s highest court to the full Senate floor for a confirmation vote.
The negative was the first in the history of the appointive process for Court of Appeals judges.
