Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz on Tuesday announced the creation of the Special Prosecutions Division, a new endeavor to be led by veteran prosecutor Joyce Smith.
The division combines the Special Victims and Domestic Violence bureaus and the Juvenile Prosecutions Unit and will be helmed by Smith, who is now serving as Queen's executive assistant district attorney.
