Creating a General Counsel Office for the IT department who would be responsible for managing all legal and regulatory risks associated with technology and data, would go a long way to help solve this problem.

In today's fast-paced digital world, organizations are confronted with numerous challenges in managing the integrity, security, and required governance of data and technology. One of the major challenges organizations face is in properly addressing the legal and regulatory risks involving data, including cyber-security.
Despite the large budgets assigned to IT departments to drive innovation and effectively manage organizational and customer data, IT and security professionals often lack the requisite expertise needed to address legal and regulatory risks.
