Appellate Division, Third Department Presiding Justice Elizabeth Garry said she solely wants to be considered for chief judge.

Garry answered that question as the New York Assembly considers a proposal that would allow the governor to pick one of three sitting New York Court of Appeals judges for the vacant chief judge post, and then refer to the same shortlist that Garry is on to replace the associate judgeship.
