Attorney Caitlin Halligan’s presumed nomination to the New York Court of Appeals—as an associate jurist to potentially replace Judge Rowan D. Wilson—generated substantial bipartisan support from the New York Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.

While opting to defer an actual vote to move the Selendy Gay Elsberg partner’s nomination to the Senate floor, the committee cited Halligan’s long list of experiences and accomplishments, and wide, if not “contradictory” range of legal clientele.
