U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan of the Southern District of New York intervened in the cross-examination of E. Jean Carroll by former President Donald Trump’s attorney Joe Tacopina several times on Thursday, warning him against being “argumentative” while Carroll recounted her rape allegation against Trump.

In one exchange, as Tacopina repeatedly asked Carroll about her claim that she did not notice anyone else at the luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman while she and Trump moved through the store, Carroll’s attorneys objected.
