After weeks of intense, three-way negotiations concerning New York's fiscal 2024 budget, the leader of Senate Democrats said Monday that a $229 billion budget will be finalized on Tuesday, a month after it was due.
It includes a Gov. Kathy Hochul-initiated rollback of 2019 bail reform that strikes "the least restrictive means" standard, to ensure defendants accused of more serious crimes return to court.
