Hours after Acting Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan told lawyers representing former President Donald Trump and the Manhattan District Attorney's Office that Trump's 34-count indictment will likely go to trial in February or March 2024, Trump filed to remove his criminal case to Manhattan federal court.
Unsurprisingly, for a matter involving the first-ever criminal indictment of a former president, the effort to remove the case will involve issues of first impression.
