Neither New York State Attorney General Letitia James nor her Office can be held responsible for the alleged sexual assault of a former aide by James’ ex-chief of staff, her office argues in new court papers.

“Plaintiff Sofia Quintanar seeks to hold Defendants OAG and AG James liable for employment discrimination and civil rights violations based on the personal conduct of Defendant Ibrahim Khan, AG James’s former Chief of Staff,” reads the motion to dismiss filed on behalf of OAG and James. This alleged conduct does not involve OAG or the Attorney General, and the Amended Complaint fails to sustain a cognizable cause of action against either.”
