In the countersuit, Trump's attorney Alina Habba of Habba Madaio & Associates argued that Carroll "disregarded the jury's finding that [Trump] did not rape her" by saying "oh yes he did" during a CNN interview the day after the verdict.

Former President Donald Trump countersued author E. Jean Carroll for defamation on Tuesday, arguing that Carroll has made statements "clearly contrary" to the verdict in the parties' recent defamation and sexual assault trial.
