Six individuals have been indicted for allegedly conspiring to use a straw donor scheme to funnel illegal campaign donations to New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ 2021 mayoral campaign, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has announced.

Dwayne Montgomery, Shamsuddin Riza, Millicent Redick, Ronald Peek, YahYa Mushtaq, Shahid Mushtaq and construction company EcoSafety Consultants are accused of carrying out the scheme in order to use the donations as future leverage to secure contracts in an Adams administration.
