In 2021, Burma’s military overthrew Myanmar’s elected government. It has been unsuccessful in removing Myanmar’s ambassador to the United States, who represents the now deposed civilian government.

A Thai arms dealer (CC-1) asked defendant to hire a hitman to kill or injure the Ambassador. Defendant received two payments of $2,000 from CC-1. Defendant was indicted for conspiracy to assault a foreign official.
