Federal prosecutors Wednesday made their first request for the detention of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, days after arguing that Bankman-Fried attempted to harass a cooperating witness by leaking parts of her diary to the press.

After hearing oral arguments from prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, and Bankman-Fried’s attorney Mark Cohen of Cohen & Gresser during an hour-long hearing, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan of the Southern District of New York said he would impose an interim gag order on Bankman-Fried to give the parties time to file briefs on the question of detention. The final filing is due Aug. 3.
