Lawyers for Fox News have accused Smartmatic of trying to gin up controversy where none exists in its ongoing defamation litigation over claims aired by the network in the wake of the 2020 presidential election, per newly filed court papers.

Attorneys for the voting technology company last week accused Fox of leading them on a “wild goose chase” as they attempted to obtain recordings of meetings relevant to their $2.7 billion lawsuit.
