[Editor's note: The letter was written in response to the article "City Bar Group Questions Appointment of Former Judge to Monitor Bias," which the Law Journal published on Aug. 3.]
I am disappointed that the New York City Bar Association would call into question the independence of Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick simply because she served on the Court of Appeals 10 years ago.
