A contingent of New York lawmakers and advocates gathered Wednesday near a “Billionaires’ Row” tower in Manhattan where they said its owner, under a veil of secrecy, “cheated” construction workers of wages. 

The group, composed of Democrats, gathered to urge Gov. Kathy Hochul to sign the LLC Transparency Act, which would require LLCs to disclose their owners to the state and create a first-in-the-nation public ownership database.
