What are some of your proudest recent achievements? I am especially proud of the work I have done with the Women’s Bar Association of New York as president over the past year. I energized several committees and led committee co-chairs to hold many continuing legal education courses. I instituted for the first time a public service project, which resulted in significant donations to a battered women’s shelter. I was also very proud to be honored as one of the 2022 Law Power 100 (#82) by the City and State of New York.

Name a lawyer or mentor whose leadership inspired you. Hon. Sonia Sotomayor is an inspiration to me. She has reached the highest court and has done it with humility and humor. She was born to immigrant parents, largely raised by her mother and excelled in school. She was Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Law Journal. I appreciate her concerns expressed in opinions for the rights of defendants and her often passionate dissents on issues of race and gender identity. I am also proud to say she is still a member of the New York Women’s Bar Association.
