What are some of your proudest recent achievements? Working in immigration law has many challenges, but one of the biggest is a complex corporate reorganization that impacts thousands of employees. We recently partnered with a long-term client on this type of transaction, and I’m incredibly proud of the work that we did to ensure immigration compliance on “day one.” The project involved countless moving pieces, and everyone worked hard to ensure that every work stream progressed smoothly, including immigration. We worked closely with our client to proactively develop risk assessments and collected required documents. Data integrity is critical for proper planning, so we made sure to identify all impacted employees and to properly assess the immigration needs of each employee and their families. We held town halls with HR and employees to address their concerns.

It is very important to put yourself in the shoes of your clients—both the corporate client and its employees. For many of employees, immigration and the ability to work and travel without interruption is top priority. We need to guide them through uncertain times and allow them to focus on their “9-to-5” while we advise and handle their immigration needs.
