Practice Profile: Ilan T. Graff is a partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. He represents clients in connection with white-collar matters, regulatory and internal investigations and complex commercial litigation. Prior to joining Fried Frank, he served for 10 years in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, most recently as Deputy U.S. Attorney, overseeing the litigation of all criminal and civil cases brought on behalf of the United States in the Southern District and supervising more than 400 lawyers, paralegals, investigators and staff members across the Office’s criminal and civil divisions. He also served as co-chief of the office’s General Crimes Unit and co-chief of the Terrorism and International Narcotics Unit.

Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: Graff spent the first decade of his legal career in public service, quickly achieved key SDNY supervisory roles and was ultimately appointed one of the district’s youngest-ever deputy U.S. attorneys. He is committed to mentoring junior lawyers and helping them succeed and currently oversees pro bono projects with the Brooklyn Defenders Family Defense program and The Legal Aid Society’s LGBTQ+ Law and Policy Unit.
