What are some of the department’s most satisfying successes of the past year and why? We secured a victory on behalf of BMI against Live Nation, AEG and other major concert promoters that increased the fees paid to BMI’s affiliated songwriters, composers and music publishers by more than 130%. BMI is a long-time firm client—we have also in recent years obtained a trial victory for BMI against Pandora Media Inc., and successfully challenged the Department of Justice’s interpretation of BMI’s antitrust Consent Decree.
