Over the course of more than 60 years, the law firm that Gideon Cashman founded with Pete Pryor and David Braun has grown from a small entertainment law and litigation boutique to a nationally renowned midsize firm, with 200+ lawyers and three offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. Across the arc of that history, Gideon has been a guiding force behind Pryor Cashman's pioneering work for clients that range from multinational corporations to burgeoning startups, and is a valued mentor to colleagues in a wide array of practice areas.

After graduating from Columbia Law School in 1954 and while waiting for a commission in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps to come through, Gideon started his career by making a name for himself in public service as a trial and appellate litigator. After a short stint at RCA and working as associate counsel to the New York Waterfront Commission, he served as a lieutenant in the Army's Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps from 1955-1958, becoming the generals' advisor on civilian law.
