Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Esther “Micky” Morgenstern, who is set to retire at the end of this year, advised younger jurists coming up in the New York State Court System to “really listen” to the parties who appear before them.

“Every person has a story, so listen to what they have to say,” remarked the 28-year veteran of the bench and presiding justice of the Kings County Integrated Domestic Violence (IDV) Court. “Be sensitive to what’s going on in the courtroom.”
