U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff of the Southern District of New York on Monday reminded prosecutors about their obligations under recent amendments to Rule 16 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, writing that he would not “tolerate … shoddy noncompliance” with the rule in the future.

During a narcotics distribution trial, which ended in a conviction for defendant Mounir Mrabet on Nov. 9, the government introduced testimony from Drug Enforcement Administration task force officer Alfred Hernandez, Rakoff said.
