White-collar experts say that a series of U.S. Supreme Court rulings in public corruption cases have raised the degree of difficulty for prosecutors in the Southern District of New York if they decide to bring charges in their investigation of alleged misconduct related to campaign contributions in New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ 2021 campaign.

Adams has not been accused of any wrongdoing and maintains he acted appropriately.
