A group of Yazidi-Americans represented by human rights lawyer Amal Clooney and attorneys at Jenner & Block sued French conglomerate Lafarge S.A. on Thursday in the Eastern District of New York, arguing that the company owes damages for violations of the Anti-Terrorism Act for its support of the terrorist group ISIS.

Lafarge agreed to pay $778 million in criminal fines and forfeiture in 2022 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to provide material support to terrorist groups. The U.S. Department of Justice described the case as the first time a corporation had ever been charged with providing material support and resources to a foreign terrorist group.
