Several key New York lawmakers on Friday threw their support behind the state Office of Indigent Legal Services’ request for $50 million to boost parental legal representation in Family Court cases.

The request from the executive branch for the fiscal year beginning on April 1 would make for a five-fold increase from this year’s $10 million for the ILS’s parental representation program.
