A former managing director of Blackstone’s private equity stakes business unit started this week in the New York office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, where he will serve as a partner in the fund transactions team, the law firm announced Tuesday.

Christopher Evans’ move to Simpson Thacher comes in the months after Blackstone incorporated its GP Stakes unit, which targets minority stakes in the management companies of private equity firms, into its private equity segment in 2024’s second quarter, according to a disclosure filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
