Citing a preference for a smaller law firm, New York litigator Roberta Kaplan said on Wednesday she is leaving the practice she formed seven years ago to launch a small civil litigation, investigations and advisory boutique.

Kaplan is leaving Kaplan Hecker & Fink with Tim Martin, another partner there, to form the new boutique, called Kaplan Martin LLP, which will launch on July 15. Also joining them in the practice will be Steven M. Cohen, founding member of advisory firm Blue Raven LLP, and Mitra Hormozi, former general counsel at Revlon.
