A family court judge has agreed to be censured for sending hostile and demeaning emails about her court’s chief clerk, and for failing to adhere to her administrative judge’s directive not to confront court staff about their work, the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct announced on Tuesday.

Rensselaer County Family Court Judge Jill Kehn was being investigated for contributing to a hostile work environment, displaying discourteous behavior to court staff, and undermining the chief clerk through a string of “petty” emails with another office worker who has since been fired, the commission determination said.
