New York City-based employment firm Wigdor filed a complaint July 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of Topaz Smith, a pregnant Black woman, who claims she was fired following maternity leave from the organization and replaced with a white woman who was not pregnant.

The World Economic Forum and its founder Klaus Schwab, who host the annual Davos retreat in Switzerland to address global challenges, have been hit with a discrimination lawsuit this week for claims that the organization wrongfully terminated and retaliated against a Black woman following her maternity leave.
