The Senate Judiciary Committee failed to advance federal magistrate judge Sarah Netburn’s nomination to a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to the full Senate.

Ahead of the 10-11 vote, Republicans continued attacks against Netburn over her recommendation to allow a prison transfer for a transgender inmate to a women’s detention facility. All Republicans on the committee voted no, and were joined by Democratic Sen. John Ossoff of Georgia.
