Guo Wengui, a self-exiled Chinese businessman also known as “Miles Guo,” could face decades in prison following his guilty plea on charges related to a “complex conspiracy” to defraud online followers out of more than $1 billion.

Guo, who has ties with former Donald Trump adviser Steven Bannon, was found guilty on nine out twelve counts on Tuesday following a seven-week jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
