Nearly half of National Basketball Association teams been hit with copyright infringement claims filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for their use of several popular songs in videos posted online and in social media.
The separate complaints were filed last week by Beverly Hills, California, firm Johnson & Johnson on behalf of Artist Publishing Group, Kobalt Music Publishing America and other plaintiffs holding rights to the songs.
