The U.S. Senate confirmed two of President Joe Biden’s federal trial court judicial appointees in a bipartisan vote Wednesday as the president attempted to resolve the “senior status” retirement drama playing out in the Northern District of New York.

State Judge Meredith A. Vacca of New York and U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph Francis Saporito Jr. of Pennsylvania now have the advice and consent to serve as U.S. district judges in their respective states.
