Attorneys for independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday asked an intermediate state appeals court to allow him and running mate Nicole Shanahan to appear on New York’s ballot in the Nov. 5 election.

His counsel, lawyers Howard E. Colton and Gary Donoyan, filed the request to the Appellate Division, Third Department in Albany, along with an informational statement that follows state Supreme Court Justice Christina Ryba’s ruling on Monday that said Kennedy’s New York residency claim on his nominating petition was a “false statement.”
