A Central New York jurist who allegedly displayed a Confederate flag on his desk for nearly 20 years, and posted inappropriate political commentary on Facebook, including a post that referred to former President Barack Obama as “the food stamp president,” should be removed, the state’s judicial misconduct watchdog said on Monday.

An 11-0 determination by the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct said that the alleged transgressions of Salisbury Town Court Justice Thomas F. Rathbun Jr. ”render him unfit for judicial office and warrant his removal.”
