Practice Profile: Chirag advises on project finance transactions in the power, LNG, and infrastructure sectors, with a focus on commercial loans, syndicated loans, and private placements. His clients regularly include commercial and investment banks, private equity and corporate sponsors, institutional investors, and private debt funds.
Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: Chirag is Local Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Finance Department in the New York office. Complementing his transactional work, Chirag maintains an active pro bono practice that benefits diverse nonprofit groups in the New York area. He regularly collaborates with the Lawyers Alliance for New York, a leading provider of business and transactional legal services for nonprofit organizations and social enterprises that focus on improving the quality of life in New York City neighborhoods. Since 2015, Chirag has volunteered his services to over a dozen Lawyers Alliance partners, for which he was awarded the organization’s Cornerstone Award in 2018. He also volunteers with Read Ahead, a reading-based mentoring program for elementary school students.
