The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ordered a retrial in Sarah Palin’s defamation case against The New York Times over a 2017 editorial, citing “several major issues” during the trial that ended in a loss for the former GOP vice presidential candidate.

The panel said that the jury’s verdict siding with The New York Times was called into question because the federal judge who oversaw the trial wrongly excluded certain evidence and gave an inaccurate jury instruction, among other problems.
