The Empire State’s bar leader said Thursday he’s “saddened but unfortunately not surprised by the steady rise and alarming increase in hate crimes in New York State.”
Domenick Napoletano, president of the New York State Bar Association, issued the statement on the heels of a a state comptroller report that says reported hate crimes spiked nearly 13% in 2023, with the uptick most attributable to Jewish victims.
