What are some of your proudest recent achievements? I take great personal satisfaction in being part of investigations that bring to light misconduct by state workers. This misconduct not only results in the theft of state funds but also damages the reputation of the state workforce as a whole and the public’s confidence in state government. Specifically, I have recently been involved in a number of cases in which we have found State Employees, specifically in the NYS Department of Corrections, to have committed Workers’ Compensation Fraud. This type of fraud has become a major problem in Corrections causing staffing and safety issues in our prisons. I am proud to be part of the Inspector General Office where we are given the opportunity to hold these individuals accountable for their actions and safeguard taxpayer funds.

Name a lawyer or mentor whose leadership inspired you. When I first started my public career in the Erie County DA’s Office, I was fortunate to have a supervisor, Louis Haremski — who was a truly exceptional leader. Lou instilled in me the belief that mistakes are a natural part of growth, emphasizing the importance of addressing and learning from them. As a supervisor, he guided me through problem-solving, mitigation, and most crucially, learning from every misstep. Now, as a supervisor myself, I strive to apply these principles.
