What are some of your proudest recent achievements? I am most proud of my work with victims of anti-Asian violence during the pandemic and building a community to support them along with the Asian American Bar Association of New York. This is not work I ever sought out and not work that I hope to continue – no one wants to have the distinction of having the most clients who have died in the law firm. And it is not every day that a patent lawyer like me would become a civil rights lawyer. But it was the right thing to do when we saw a profound rise in hate towards Asian Americans. Anti-Asian hate is not new. And it has not place in America. But every generation of Asian Americans has confronted these issues. And when it happened in NYC during the pandemic, I had to speak out and seek justice for the victims. I continue to represent victims of anti-Asian hate now and work with other groups to combat hate in our communities.
