What were some of your most satisfying successes of the past year, and why?

Being part of the team that represented the senior construction lenders on the Sunzia financing is a highlight of my career. The amount of work (and paper) that was required to close the construction and take-out financing was ‘considerable,’ to put it mildly. As closing drew near, every day would bring hundreds of new emails on issues and questions raised by various lenders, on top of the meetings, calls and emails to negotiate the documents with the developer and its counsel. It was intense and felt like a marathon some days. However, everyone on that deal worked together in a collaborative manner to resolve issues and reach commercial agreement. Closing felt like a great accomplishment not just for the clients but for the legal teams on both sides. I look forward to visiting the project when fully constructed.
