Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's spokesman sued Wigdor and a female state trooper on Tuesday, alleging they knowingly filed a legally baseless federal complaint against him, to try to "bully" him into silence.

The matter stems from Wigdor's federal employment discrimination lawsuit in February 2022 on behalf of the unnamed trooper—an alleged target of Cuomo's sexual harassment of state employees—that had also named his spokesman, Richard Azzopardi, and another top aide as defendants.
